Weizhun Mao

Dr. MAO Weizhun, born in 1981 in Shandong Province, is currently an Associate Professor in International Politics at the School of Government, the Deputy Editor-in-chief of NJU Asia-Pacific Review, and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Asia-Pacific Development Studies, Nanjing University. He holds the Doctor’s degree in Social Science (Dr. rer. soc) awarded by Universität Konstanz in 2015 and a PhD degree in International Relations from Renmin University of China in 2012. Prior to the doctor’s degrees, he got a Master’s degree in International Humanitarian Actions in 2007 from Ruhr-Universität Bochum and Uppsala Universitet funded by Erasmus Mundus, a Master’s Degree in International Politics by Nankai University in 2006, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Studies at Nanjing University. In addition, from 2011 to 2014, Dr. Mao conducted his research in a transnational project as Junior Researcher and Postdoctoral Associate at  Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF), Leibniz Association, Germany. 

His main research interests include International Institutions, International Relations Theories, Peace and Conflict, and Asia-Pacific Regional Studies, etc.
