Digital Humanities and Research on Historical Geographic Informalization

Abstract

The Historical Geographic Informalization is a newly emerging interdisciplinary field of study. With the rise of the “Spatial Turn” trend of research in Humanities and Social Sciences in recent years, it gradually forms a “Study of Spatial Integrated Humanities and Social Science” supported by the technology of Geographic Information System (GIS). It becomes an essential component of Digital Humanities research. The article is intended to discuss and evaluate the concepts, methods, and situation of Historical Geographic Informalization. On the other hand, it provides suggestions from different perspectives, such as promoting Digital Humanities research and innovations of scientific methods in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences.
